In March of 04, I took the Sound of Music Tour with Trafalgar
Tours. Although I was interested in the Sound of Music sites, I was more
interested in the location. I hope you enjoy the photo's as much as I enjoyed
taking them.
This is the cemetery that the Vontrapps hid in before the escaped.
This is the tree lined street where the kids were hanging and playing in the trees.
And this is the famous Gazebo from the Sound of Music.
Strausburg, was a beautiful city and very easy to walk around.
We wanted to see the Lipizzaner Stallions perform, but tickets were expensive, and hard to come by. So we watched them practice.
There's nothing like an outdoor cafe in Vienna!
We made a stop at Neuschwanstein Castle home of mad King Ludwig. The castle was also used in the film Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. You can take a horse drawn carriage ride up to the castle, or you can walk.
